From February to June 2025, our school proudly collaborated with Taipei Municipal Min-Quan Junior High School, Taiwan, in the International Education Programme 2025. The meaningful exchange brought together 438 students from Min-Quan (7th and 8th Grades) and 438 students from Chung Hua (Junior 1 and 2), creating a shared platform for cultural exchange, language development and global learning.

Programme Objectives

-To enhance intercultural communication and English proficiency among students.

-To deepen students’ understanding of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities) and (SDG 14: Life below Water).

-To encourage teamwork, creativity and digital literacy through collaborative online tasks.

-To promote global friendship and mutual respect between Malaysian and Taiwanese students.

Pre-Programme Briefing

Before the start of the exchange, a briefing session was held for both teachers and students. The Academic Affairs Department explained the objectives, schedule and expectations of the international collaboration. Teachers were introduced to the activity flow and communication platforms, while students were guided on how to write effective introductions and collaborate online. The briefing ensured that all participants understood the purpose of the programme – to learn, share and grow together beyond borders.

Programme Highlights

1. Writing Postcards – Self-introduction (Individual Task)
The programme began with students exchanging postcards to introduce themselves. Through creative writing and illustrations, they shared their hobbies, family life and school experiences. This simple yet heartfelt task opened the door to new friendships across the South China Sea.

2. Writing Letters on SDGs 11 & 14 (Group Task)
In the next stage, students worked in groups to write letters discussing issues and ideas related to sustainable cities and marine conservation. They compared local challenges and solutions from their own communities, fostering critical thinking and environmental awareness while practising authentic English communication.

3. Google Meet Presentation & Kahoot Session (Joint Activity)
The final phase of the collaboration was an exciting Google Meet session between the two schools. Students presented their PowerPoint slides on SDGs 11 and 14, showcasing their research, teamwork and creativity. The event ended on a joyful note with a Kahoot quiz, where both schools participated in a friendly competition based on their presentations. The laughter and enthusiasm during the session reflected the strong bond formed between the two groups.

A Journey of Learning Beyond Borders

Throughout the five-month programme, students not only developed their English communication and digital presentation skills but also gained valuable insights into sustainable living and global responsibility. More importantly, they learned that friendship and understanding know no difference in nationality – both Malaysian and Taiwanese students enjoyed learning as equally and as warmly as they cherished their new cross-border connections.

The Academic Affairs Department provided administrative coordination and guidance throughout the planning process. The English Language Group explained the objectives, timeline and expectations of the programme, while the Information Technology Department demonstrated the use of online tools and communication platforms to ensure smooth collaboration. This joint effort ensured that all participants clearly understood the goals and procedures of the programme, setting the stage for a successful and meaningful exchange. This international collaboration truly exemplified how education can unite hearts and minds beyond geographical boundaries – one postcard, one letter and one inspiring exchange at a time.
