As the Senior 1 students will be doing their oral test based on “Pitch Your Idea”, the English department conducted a briefing session to explain and guide the students on 13th March 2026 (Friday). The session aimed to help both students and teachers gain a clearer understanding of “Pitch Your Idea” as this is a new and challenging project to be carried out by both teachers and students.
The briefing session was conducted at the old auditorium from 1.30p.m. to 3.00p.m. Mr Wong Kah Fai led the briefing session by explaining the important elements of Pitch Your Idea. Apart from that, Ms Cheng Peak Har arranged a presentation with her former senior 1ST students based on their last year’s “Pitch Your Idea” project. The students eagerly presented their project to the new batch. Mr Wong Kah Fai engaged in a question and session with the presenters.
The main objectives of the briefing session were to:
· Understand the important elements of “Pitch Your Idea”.
· Enhance public speaking, creativity, and persuasion techniques.
· Gain the poise to present ideas, manage questioning, and handle feedback.
Students enjoyed learning the fundamental elements of Pitch Your Idea and they got a clear picture of their task for their oral preparation based on the “Pitch Your Idea” method. As the oral presentation takes place twice in a year, the students need to prepare their proposal and presentation semester by semester. Furthermore, students also got the opportunity to get some significant ideas for their project and presentation when they saw former senior1ST students’ presentation about “Smart Water Bottle”. Overall, this programme enhanced students’ and teachers’ understanding of the “Pitch Your Idea” concept.
We would like to appreciate Mr Wong Kah Fai for his guidance and valuable contribution in guiding both students and teachers on the Pitch Your Idea concept.
