走出课堂，探索巧克力的奥秘——初一廉班赴 Beryl's 巧克力工厂户外教学

    2026年8月21日，初一廉班在郑旭婷老师、杜锦萍老师及沈杏娥老师的带领下，走出课堂，前往雪兰莪沙登（Seri Kembangan）的 Beryl's 巧克力工厂进行户外教学。此次活动结合地理与英文学习，让同学们通过实地参访，将课堂所学延伸至真实生活与产业环境中。

    当天上午10时30分，同学们在学校底层大厅集合。老师向同学们说明活动流程及注意事项后，大家便搭乘巴士出发。约11时，同学们先享用午餐，随后继续前往沙登的 Beryl's 巧克力工厂。

    抵达工厂后，同学们先在厂外拍摄大合照，随后前往二楼展览馆参观。过程中，讲师以英文为同学们介绍巧克力的主要原料——可可（cocoa），并讲解可可的种类、巧克力的分类、巧克力的发展历史，以及早期制作巧克力所使用的工具。通过英文导览，同学们除了认识巧克力的相关知识，也有机会接触与食品加工及巧克力相关的英文词汇，如 cocoa、cocoa bean、chocolate、ingredients 等，在真实情境中运用英语理解资讯。

    接着，同学们观看有关巧克力及其制作过程的影片，进一步了解可可豆经过加工后成为巧克力的过程。讲解结束后，同学们还体验了巧克力品尝活动，品尝不同种类的巧克力。

    参观结束后，同学们也有机会选购自己喜欢的巧克力作为伴手礼，并拍照留念。约下午3时，同学们结束参访，搭乘巴士返回学校。

    此次户外教学让同学们不仅认识巧克力的制作过程，也进一步了解农业原料、食品加工与消费之间的关系。同时，通过英文导览及情境式学习，同学们能够在真实环境中接触英语，将语言学习与生活体验结合起来，培养观察、聆听及理解能力。

    同学们也特别感谢老师安排此次初一廉班户外教学，以及老师们一路上的带领与照顾。这趟旅程不仅带来了丰富的课外知识，也留下了许多欢乐而难忘的回忆。

美味并非轻易得来，而是经过一道道工序和无数人的付出。这次的巧克力之旅，不仅是一场参访，更是一堂生动有趣的生活课，也让同学们发现，学习不只发生在课堂里。

    此次户外教学不仅让同学们拓宽了地理与工业知识，也是一次宝贵的情境式英语实践。参访结束后，同学们以英文记录下了各自的所思所想与独特感受。以下为初一廉班同学的英文心得分享：

    We visited Beryl’s chocolate factory on 21 August 2026. The reason we went there was to learn how chocolate is made and to see different kinds of chocolate. We got to the factory at 1:00 p.m. . Three teachers came with us on this trip. The place was very clean and big.
    First, we went to the shop with our teachers. There were many types of chocolate like milk chocolate, dark chocolate and chocolate with nuts. We looked at the chocolates carefully. My classmates and I liked the almond chocolate and the rocky road chocolate.
    After that, a tour guide showed us around the factory. The tour guide explained how chocolate is made and how the workers operate. Then we watched a video. The video showed the steps of making chocolate from cocoa beans. We also saw big chocolate statues. The teachers helped us understand more.
    After the learning session, we bought some chocolate. My classmates bought gifts for their family. The chocolate was cheaper than that in the supermarket. The teachers helped us pay and keep our things.
    We had a good time at Beryl’s Chocolate Factory on 21 August. We learned new things about chocolate from the tour guide and the video. We also bought some chocolate to bring home. With the help of the three teachers, the trip was safe and fun. I hope we can go on another trip like this again.

Topic: A visit to Beryl’s Chocolate Factory

    On 21 August 2026, our class went on an educational trip to Beryl’s Chocolate Factory. We gathered at the ground-floor lobby at 10:30 a.m. and got ready to leave. After that, we travelled by bus and stopped at McDonald’s for lunch before continuing our journey to the chocolate factory.     At 12:00 p.m., we left for Beryl’s Chocolate Factory. We arrived at about 1:00 p.m., so the journey from McDonald’s to the chocolate factory took about one hour. When we arrived, we gathered together and took a group photo before entering the factory.
    At 1:30 p.m., we went on an English guided tour of the chocolate factory. During the tour, I learned more about the types of chocolate and how chocolate is made. After the guided tour, we had some free time to explore the exhibition area and complete our worksheet. The worksheet helped us pay more attention to the information given during the visit. We also bought some chocolate products.
    This educational trip was meaningful because I could connect what I have learned in Geography with a real food-processing industry. I also learned more about the second sector and how different stages of production are connected. Besides gaining knowledge, I have learned the importance of following instructions, working together and behaving well during an educational trip.
    At 3:00 p.m., we started our journey back to school and arrived at school at about 4:00 p.m. I enjoyed this educational trip because it was a different way of learning outside the classroom. I hope we will have more educational trips like this in the future.
